I recently brought a P38 1997. When I unlock the drivers door all the other doors remain locked. When the drivers door is opened I can lift the driver lock down to lock and up to unlock and then all the other doors open and when go to lock my car up it will only lock the drivers door. Anyone had this problem or know what it could be?

Thanks
Luke

Sounds like the Drivers door Microswitch is duff....this little puppy is what signals the BeCM to unlock the rest of the doors.

Get it sorted soon, as if the worst happens nad you have to enter the EKA (Emergency Key Access) code this is done through a series of key turns in the door lock...if your door lock is registering the key turns....you could find the car immobilised with little chance of getting it restarted unless you have access to a Diagnostics Computer!

Yes P38 Range Rovers are ridiculously complicated, especially the locking and security system....hence why they are so cheap to insure, cos even if you have the key it can be a pig to start and drive off in!

Thanks mate, I am going to book it into London Range Rover next week, do you think it will be a expensive job?
Couple of hours work Max.....lock can be had for £40-80 maybe.....of the Bay of E

Get them to put it on a Diagnostics first before they change out the lock mech....as on a decent Diagnostics Machine like an Autologic or Faultmate, they should be able to pick up Live Data from the Lock switch and see if it is registering at all....

Dane you need to introduce yourself to all the members on your first post, the guys on here will help you out in any aspect to do with your RR, by the way just in case you hve been confused we use certain slang words on here like "The Bay of E (eBay) or fleabay, Main Stealer (Main Dealer) LOL:)
You will get the hang of it, but do introduce yourself, A MUST!:brick:
I will ring LRR on Tuesday.
