Central Locking installation

Hi, sorry I know there is loads of central locking problems but I haven't been able to find one similar to mine.

I have 1 key for ignition, 1 key for drivers door, no key for passengers door, no key for tailgate and no key for fuel cap. I have been putting up with it, but I'm sick of it now because I've broken my tailgate handle so it won't open at all...

Does any know any central locking kits that I could install? Any on eBay or something..?

How do I install it? I'm sure I could figure it out if I was pointed in the right direction..

How easy would it be to get everything on 1 key?

And any idea of price?

Well u say u have odd keys and nothing about a fob, don't u have one? why not get you existing central locking working, there's lot of info on that in the Forum.

Lock sets are available from most of the LR parts suppliers and it's not that difficult to replace them, info is in the workshop manuals.

Sorry, no I don't have a fob!

There is a universal central locking kit in Maplins for £30 but it's for 4 doors... Think I will just put it on drivers, passengers, passenger rear door, and tailgate... The passenger drivers side door I can just open the lock.

I assume it's easy to fit, does it all need to be linked together and then connected to the battery?

Yes each actuator is linked, the master in the drivers door will require replacing as that is linked to your C/L ECU the slaves from the master are just two wire therefore u can reuse your existing ones if u wish alone with the door wiring, so a simples job..

All the work takes place in the drivers door u may even be able to fit the ecu there, depends on it's size or just lay it beside the fuse box, loads of room there. I have Bluetooth kit there without any probs.
Just make sure u have the correct polarity so the four slave doors match the drivers door ie. they all lock together
