Hi,

I have a S reg discovery with a factory fitted tape player and CD autochanger (which sits under the drivers seat) and recently when I switch mode from radio to CD, I get 'CD ERROR' message. I have checked the connections underneath the seat and have come across a connection that has a silver connector hanging out. I have no idea where that should go. Can anyone help me?

Many Thanks,

Sunny

hmmm. dont know about the silver thingy but have you considered the 'easy' options of a dodgy cd or incorrectly inserted cd ie upside down? I know its easy to overlook the obvious sometimes. Sorry if I insulted your intelligence.

The autochanger does not eject and you cannot hear any noise from it. It has nothing to do with the CD being upside down or anything like that. Does anyone know where I can get a diagram of how that fits together with connections (if one exists)?

hello
i have a regular problem with this if you put a screwdriver on both sides of the cd cassette and very gently pull the cassette it will be released then press the eject button the unit makes a swish noise and realligns itself then replace the cassette unit should now work perfectly takes about 1 minute but be very gentle

Hi ott,
I've just had the same problem on my Alpine autochanger. Everything was working fine until the last time I went to eject the CD stack. Although the unit will happily switch & play all the CD's without any errors, no matter how mant times I press the green eject button I simply cannot get the cassette to eject. Can you please give me a little mode info regarding you're method of getting the cassette out manually? Any advice you or any of the other members can offer would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

To eject the cd cassette slid a credit card in and over the top of the cassette and slid it to one side there is a catch there somewhere and the card will trip the catch and the cassette will pop out. I had this error problem 3 times in a month and used this card trick shown to me by a LR service manager I havent had any more probs with the cd play since then and that was 8 years ago.

I'm getting forgetfull so if it's not the top is the bottom of the cassette

Regards
