Hi All

I did start several years ago building a CCV, this project has taken for ever what with various family stuff, and have only just got back into it, The rules have changed so my the role cage now doesn't meet the spec for any timed events! anyways thought I would get this going again and have done a fair amount of work on it this year and aim to have it running in a month or so....then hopefully finished very soon.....so here are a few pics and I will keep this thread updated. Any advice comments all welcome....as still not a totally competent mechanic.

Where do you plan to use it?

We (CVLRC) run occasional CCV events in the area. And we also allow CCV vehicles to compete in RTV events, sometimes with a few extra challenges for the CCV vehicles. Must be an ALRC compliant vehicle however and if entering as a CCV vehicle must be log booked.

300 you know muddyduck. He has laid out most the tyro trials where cvlrc were playing. Brickhill, Weston and suchlike.

Can't wait to see it out running muddy duck!!

I'll was supposed to be refitting my fuel tank and facet pump today get the 80 running but it's ****ing down and Rach has other plans. Still hopefully means I can (ahem) watch :-( the ccv at sewell just 5 mins down the road next weekend cvlrc

300 not sure if you know but a few of us have been meeting up previously Greenlaners and now more competitive guys for probably nearly 8years but the meet has been in Dunstable first Weds of the month at the white lion pub. Joules and stu cvlrc members are regulars. Everyone welcome so if your bored come along!

Ah seen he diagram on my other non silly I phone that won't open PDFs.

I can help with wiring if you need what you have there is ok although I'd put an ignition switch on it somewhere as it's nice sometimes to be able to spin the engine over wihout it firing up. Also the cut out switch you may aswell fit an Fia engine cut out which will require a lamp like a sidelight off a landy £3 with alternator protection. Mine is different no lecky fan (viscous one) instead. I have brake lights digital temp gauge and all that hooked up.

My starter has no relay just a decent 40A button. You have fused everything which is no bad thing. I'd have personally a separate ignition switch which powers up ign, fuel pump, and anything else like brake lights, horn, engine warnings alt warning lamp oil pressure etc.

For wire fuse box and all that stuff I kept the old fuse box from a breaker but I ended up just buying new stuff from AES auto electrical supplies just as good as wiring products but alot less postage and quick delivery.

If you keep ign live wires as white starter motor white with a red trace it can be wires up pretty easily a couple of hours. P clips I need to buy lots of various sizes. And some harness covering and heat shrink. Another good one is make sure the fuel pump is soldered so many v8's not starting are down to poor conn connections on the fuel pump either earth or live soldered and heat shrunk eliminates any dodgy crimped joints.

Rob if you get all the wire and bits you need just shout one evening or a free sat morning I'm sure I can shoot up with crimps and get it wires up!
