i had a magmount on my disco i have got a 90 now so magmount is no good ,ive got a lightbar with a spare lug would it be possible to unbolt the arial from the magnet and fix it too the lightbar ?

Yes and no, you couldnt just screw the aerial to the lightbar madhatman is right, you could take the magmount apart and make something to fit, however your better off either using a 'snailmount' which would bolt to the spare lug, or better a truckers mirror mount, one of these just clamps around your bars and away you go, you do need to make sure that there is a good connection from the bracket to the bar otherwise your SWR will be high and your range will be crap, a piece of thick wire from the bracket through the grille to a good body earth is reccomended.
Oh and make sure the whip cannot flex and touch the body or bull bars, if you were transmitting and this happened you'd blow something.

I just bought a TTC 880 and a window mount. Yes I know the aerial range is crap but its mainly aesthetics to match a phone aerial that was on when I bought the car and it will be for Offroad convoy use. I've also got a magmount if I need a bit more range :D

Never liked them window couplers, check your SWR, its normally high because of the windows capacitive coupling, if its really high you'll toast your finals.
If size is the issue a helix is a better choice, a bnc mount with a handheld rig helix aerial.

Can you get a CB with a remote panel?

E.G. One where I can mount the body of the CB somewhere out of the way and then the control panel somewhere up front near the dash or under the cup holders or something?

Ta

**EDIT**

Like this I THINK. I

t ays at the bottom

"remote 2 m long Sub-D cable to operate the front section separate from the main unit"

So could I mount the main box box in the boot and have the screen and the mic near the drivers seat??

Not seen a CB with a detachable front but my Yaesu FT7800 (ham radio) has one and it's brilliant. If you're any good with a soldering iron it shouldn't be that difficult to take the front off any cb and stick it in a plastic box from Maplins and extend the cabling.

EDIT.

Bastid stop editing ya post whilst I'm trying to reply to it!! :D

Yes if you click the pic it shows the front mounted to a bracket on the dASH.

£170 for a CB is a bit fooking much int it. Also I int sure that would be legal in the UK as it can transmit on AM as well as FM & AM transmission requires a Amateur Radio Licence & Ham int allowed to operate on the CB waveband. So they wouldn't be allowed to use it either.
