well is there any one who can help ive fitted a cb in my disco and im getting interference through antenna ive supressed the power with a 20 amp supressor with is inline with cb ive swred and im down to 1.5 ch1 1.5 ch 20 1.9 ch 40 so thats ok im hearing injectors i think as i hit the peddal the noise goes worse but when i let go on over run theres no noise but as soon as u hit peddal agin its back also there when ticking over some one must know how to sort this out plz help

Can i assume its a V8 and not a diesel ??Where is the aerial mounted ? And what type of aerial fitting ? Mag mounts are normally quite good at eliminating interference,Gutter mounts may attract more interference especially if the mount near the front. If you have mounted your CB on top of your dashboard and you have a V8 that may induce more interference. If its a diesel you got more problems < you could try making a matching freq stub.

its a td5. its a gutter mount . and its at the rear right hand corner of the roof . and the cb is on the right hand side of the plastic console by the cigarette lighter by your left leg .. ive put the plus and neg straight to battery along with a 20 amp supressor but its not coming in through the power its coming in from antenna .. when antenna is unplugged there is no noise there ... ive also hooked it up to a differant battery in the foot well and it still does the same ..... whats a matching freq stub???

I had a similar problem once, and it turned out to be 2 things, a bad earth from the antenna mount connection to the car body giving a bad ground plane and the rf tuning between the antenna and cb unit, used a swr meter to get the reading to zero and it all turned out peachy no interference from the engine and no interference going out from the rig, hiope this helps .

Hey Ultra, I have exactly the same problem with my Disco and the CB I installed. Tried everything from different antenna, power source, different CB,new coax but still getting noise when travelling. Sounds like its from the injectors as the noise increases when i accelerate and it disappears when i take my foot off the gas... Weird, tried a clean, suppressed power feed from the battery as well, stumped any ideas ? Did you get anywhere with thios ??:(

Go to CDC truck stops they have addresses on the internet site google CDC truck parts.they do truck accessories and cb equipment.they also fit and advise as they are all qualified installers and for a fee willwire it in proper for you.I got mine done at stock yard for a fiver.and works mint with set as good as it will get.n I get good distance to on my disco and my hgv.

Hope this helps
