Cat bypass and possible backbox removal...

Right i know its legal to remove the cat on my disco, is it still legal if the backbox was gone also?? emissions, is the problem, has anyone got a system like this just straight through from the manifold?? i know my freind does but its not a disco, need this help soon as, as im bored an have noting to do, with spare pipe an an angle grinder to hand :D let me know please guys??

its not emmsions thats the problem mate, its the noise. if you remove the cat then no problem but when you start taking out the mufflers then the plod could get ancy with ya...but havin said that ..its my next job lol on the 300tdi i have..decat and a large bore freeflow silencer in the middle.

Awesome buddy, thats all i needed to here....ill get the cat gone, then have a play :)
 
I think my 200 doesnt have a cat, but I was thinking about getting a side exit exhaust, but for that would have to remove my back box.. but also not sure about legalities of this...
 
JP im jus gunna go for it, i want the side exit you see but what i may do is chop the back box off, bent the pipe at the end so its not sharp then leave it exititng jus behind the back wheel like it would attatch to the box, mine has a cat :| annouyed but ill make a pipe to fit instead ill put up some pics when its done see what you think??
 
Right, for MOT you are not allowed to have a straight through exhaust system. It must have silencers fitted ( at least one ). De-cat will not be a problem so long as emmissions are good and below the values for the vehicle.
