Castor angle on discovery axel

and I'm telling you I have a series with converted range rover axles on it.......the exact same angles and more or less the same axles

now take it to a bloody shop because you obviously don't understand the fact that the leaf springs set the angle.

though you do need to know what angle swivel pins are so as secure at the right angle

I think I will do what jamesmartin suggested and work from an engineering point of view thanks.

12* on the diff sets everything else up, that gives you the right angle for prop and then the leafs set up your castor as per series

anyway even if he does that he still has to contend with the poor steering arm set up which should be another bit of fun for him

The angle has already been engineered........all you need to do is copy it

If you're trying to be a smart arse and tell me you're an engineer then I really don't know how you haven't understood this. I study motorsport engineering and this is **** easy basics.

The angles already set all you do is emulate it

your presuming diff face is 0 degrees

Its not perfectly flat but setting at 12* gives you the right prop angle and sets the castor up right, mine, robbs and various others are all set at 12*

he would have found that if he'd searched on google anyway......as well as all the pictures with a step by step guide on various sites including an expedition forum where someone had done it on theirs to improve braking after fitting a V8

hmm nearer enough engineering then :)

V8 jon had a picture tutorial how he fitted his disco axle onto his series 2

Irf any one can find the link
Doc i think you posted on that thread

As far as i can remember he managed to work it out buy looking at his wifes dicovery
not very scientific you might think but very do able

He also shows how he got around the steering arm problem

Im still looking for fred
