I dont think I carry any spares ???? Got a fullish toolkit, zip ties, WD40 and a few headlight bulbs etc but no proper spares.

Thats basically what im carrying but after last weekend im thinking a few extra bits are needed... hoses/bleed plugs being at the top of my list!!

I fitted the brass plugs, much better than the plastic ones.

Yeah I found that out, the rad one popped on its own, I managed to get one from someone who just loaded thiers onto a trailer and as I bleed it I snaped the second one! Brass ones are on order now tho...

What's a toolkit?

Half shafts and prop shafts, hoses and tape for this and tape for that. I can understand if you are going miles away from home for a long weekend but come on, ask yourself how good you maintain your vehicle and how well you drive if you have to carry almost another Discovery in the boot.

Saying that, mine will probably break now............

I carry:
Spade
Ropes
Full tool box
Yellow warning triangle
Jump leads
Flask
Hi viz clothing
Blankets
Pillows
Stove
Tins of food

I look a right dick when im stood at the bus stop on a morning!! ;0)

All the above are kept in the landy at all times.
Ive broken diffs and replaced them in the middle of no where. Ive broken a cv that locked the wheel and steering miles from anywhere on a green lane and over 200 miles from home. although i didnt have the spares to fix it i had to remove the cv and drive shaft in order to get to a main road for green flag recovery something that wouldnt have been posible without the correct tools, if i had a cv with me we could have carried on with the trip in the same time taken.
It does help to keep your landy well maintained but sooner or later something will give up that cant be forseen.
All my equipment is stored in specific boxs and i have 2 full length alley shelves above the floor in the back so everything has its own place, the shelves are easily removed and the entire contents removed if and when i need to use the 4 rear seats, in which case i wouldnt require the equiptment.
Always expect the unexpected

instead of carrying bits of various pipe sizes has anyone adopted my idea of carrying a roll of self amalgamating rubber tape itll fix any pipe rubber or steel good n proppa if only to get me home ;);)
