Hi all

I have a 200TDi Disco, which has had a couple of dips at pay and play. The carpets got wet on Sunday and, although they will dry i'm worried that they will rot the floor if i keep doing this, so the carpets are coming out asap.

What do people normally replace with? I was trying to get some cheap checker plate and rivet it in then seal it, but the supplier for this looks like he can't get me any after all.

So, what are the alternatives to protect it from the dreaded rust?

We use this stuff in our limos, I'm going to-at some point, lay this down in mine.

Endurance Mats

The ribbed stuff is cheaper, but a bit of a **** to get mud out of. The 6mm coin stuff, although tough to cut, might help damp the noise a little, it can also be fixed and jointed using black or clear sealant.

Schutz = underseal.

Automotive paint suppliers will sell it, 3M do a very popular and good one.

Only about £6/litre. Spray on with special gun or brush on.

Great stuff!

Did our stable floors with a similar stable mat.Great stuff but you need a sharp Stanley knife to cut it:D:D

The trouble with putting any kind of matting down is that stuff gets underneath it!

Obviously if you make it removeable then you can take it out after every pay n play for a good wash out, otherwise you're just giving yourself the same problem!

I use a pair of heavy duty rubber car mats to contain most of the ****e, and to prevent the schutz getting rubbed off the floor - easy to maintain and wash out etc.

A proper floor covering would be a better job tbh, but I cba making something as I feel it's fine as it is! :D

Hi all

Im gonna rip my carpets out before long, im just gonna treat the floor with rust treatment, primer and some sort of marine paint i think. epoxy based stuff looks good bit expensive but cheaper than the limo mats! :)
