Hi Folks, so SWMBO's D1 front prop is knackered, and we are wondering if it is worth "upgrading" to the carden jointed shaft fitted to the D2's.

Specifically - has anyone on here done this, and would you do it again?

TIA

The standard one lasts years so cant really see its worth bothering unless its cheaper. If you get desperate drop me a pm 'cus I've got one in the garage (a 300tdi one that is) that's not being used at the minute.

Thanks :) Its getting a new one either way - Its currently got the one on from my scrap D1.... but this was clearly balanced very late on a friday afternoon

The carden jointed shaft is not cheaper - not by a long way, sadly... with the new TB output flange and the shaft its about £300 (!!!), or about £80 for a standard 300 Tdi one ( both GKN ) - it'd only be "worth it" if it made a noticeable difference to NVH.....
