When I turn the key, there is power to everything but it won't even turn over. It's an automatic and the gear indicator shows all the lcd bars activated. I'm guessing its a gear selector issue. I've disconnected the battery in the hope that it resets everything. Not connected it back yet - I heard that it needs leaving for a couple of hours for power to completely drain from ecu's etc.

Any ideas?

Has your battery got full charge ?

I'll have a look at the link and yes, it is a B with a cross through it.

The battery is down slightly. The car has been standing for nearly a month now but the battery has been on charge today.

Forgot to mention there are 6 chimes too.

3 is normal... for late 2's... earlies don't have any ...
have you tried it with your seat belt on ? Sounds random, but you may have turned on the seat belt warning and it'll confuse matters ...
