2008 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Santorini Black

Won't start

Hi all, my freelander 2 won't start. I tried to connect a usb charger to the existing power socket in the centre console. But when I connected it there was no power but now the power to the little light panel for the gear selector won't light up and the car won't start. The radio still works and dash lights but nothing to start car.

Try to jump start the car.

No cranking at all when trying to start ? Good battery voltage ?
When was the last time, the car has started ?

I'd have thought that jump starting a 'modern car' was the last resort.

All sorts of electrics to be fried.

Best to avoid jump starting these. It can do loads of damage to the electronics.

My advice is to check the battery is showing more than 12.8 Volts. If less than 12.8V then either charge the battery and try again, or just replace the battery.
