Car diagnostics app

I was thinking of getting a oil temp / rev / etc gauge and then thought (having just installed a Bluetooth stereo to use my iphone) that a diagnostics app and device might be better, easier, cheaper, etc

Anyone have any experience of these with a landy?

Would that be a 1984 90/110 or a 2013 defender?

If it aint got those gauges already then its unlikely to be ODB I would guess. If it has got an ODB port I read this yesterday that interested me. Very cool and very cheap diagnostic tool it seems!

if its not a TDCI, it wont work... simples.

they is quite good though, got one for my last motor as a diagnostic tool, cheap £20 jobbie, works ok, fine for code reading, was a bit laggy on and off for live data.

I didn't realise it was only the TDCi. Don't TD5's have ECU's and stuff?

Yep, but not obd2 so only works with nanocom etc

Its own which is not OBD2 compliant.

I also have a bluetooth OBD2 gizmo for my Subaru which works OK via my phone or laptop. Was £18 on fleabay.

Any idea if Bluetooth or WiFi jobby will work on my 2011 110 2.4 Puma... Asked seller if his Wifi one worked on my Puna Transit engine and he say 'no'!

I meet a company today launching a product while in business in Boston. They are going to send me one to test. If it doesn't work - i'll try to get them to figure out why and maybe even open up a new market for them

A hammer is the number one diagnostic tool for Vauxhalls not fenders.

The hammer is used as a method of persuasion on fenders. Some fenders take more persuasion than others though.

should work on the puma/TDCI anything Deisel after 2003 should be OBD2 compatible, Petrol was earlier (2000????)

Some systems such as ford and Renault require ignition to be turned on and off for set periods of time or time for the system to boot up before being able to communicate properly with diagnostic pooters. This can often result in some OBD fault code readers struggling to communicate.
