Hi, I have a simple question. The caps either side of the windscreen on my 90 are oxidised and the paint is flaking. As I need to use the vehicle on a daily basis removing the offending items, prepping, spraying and replacing is a no-go.

So I need to purchase two replacements, which I can fix up at my leisure and replace in a simple swop. Thing is.... what the hell are they called!

Any guid?

Genius. I need some LaCrocof****e stuff to wipe the oil of my dipstick (that isn't a euphemism).

Back on track. I'm tight. I bought some secondhand ones off the bay, with bolts and rubbers. The plan is to refurb the secondhand ones, paint to the correct colour at my convenience, then when ready do a straight swap and re-advertise the old ones back on the bay.

Plan or what?

I've just replaced mine today. Problem with the brackets is that the aluminium is porous and absorbs water. Mine (2006 model) were in a right state. they're only about 12 quid each so I cant see anybody buying them second hand. Not worth the labour to fix them. Going in the bin, unless somebody wants them LHS is rubbish, RHS is quite good, Java black.

The corrosion comes off quite easily, my 'tight as assholes' secondhand ones are now stripped and ready for a respray. They look no different from new ones.

They are called Windscreen brackets - LR part nos MUC7911 and MUC 7912 ( they left and right are slightly different), hence the different part nos. Will cost you £30 for the pair included VAT
