i thought i had the same problem until i noticed that a previous owner had fitted a borg warner transfer box when changing from v8 to 300tdi.
i had the ctr console out and all the rivets drilled out to try and sort a sticking leaver before i noticed what was what.

What's the difference on the borg warner then ?

It'll just be the lever mech that's seized. Whip the gear gators off and mat then remove the rubber cover to gain access to it. Disconect the linkage and try move it side to side. If it dnt move then whip the whole thing off and soak in WD40 and try and persuade it free.

Alternatively just get a replacement thats not fooked! :)

Infact here is pic of when i did mine.

The linkage you want to whip off is on the right (got a nut as a spacer in the pic)

That shaft should move Left and right freely.

Glb8686 do I assume correctly that if the shaft is in the out position its in normal drive and if its pushed in its in diff lock.
Yep mine is stuck too, just in time for winter. lol. Want to sort it before the slippy stuff comes.

Thanks all
