Hi all, I want to get my TD5 chipped but I phoned to book it in today and they tell me itll take a few days because they send my ecu away to get the chip put in. I cant afford to be without it as its my only car and i need to get to work, so should I go down the tuning box route instead? whats the best one to go for?

hi, you could use 1 of the mobile chipping companies [dynachip.co.uk] costs around £250 and they solder a new chip into your ecu, its done in about 1-2 hours and they even come to your work if more convenient

To be honest I wouldn't take my vehicle to anyone for tuning, if they weren't doing themselves, had the appropriate knowledge and experience and would stand by their work.

This firm sounds just like an intermediary and if anything goes wrong there'll be problems !!!!!

twisted performance do mobile mapping. i would call bas bell auto services. Tell him dan from nene overland recomended you i bet he will sort somthing out and the difference is amazing over a tuning box i removed mine and had a proper re-map

Dont mean to go off the main thread here but all you guy's that have had remaps and chips do you tell your insurance company and if so how much more does it increase?

Cheers
