iv got an 83 2.25 diesel and what i want to know is can use a range rover diff in the rear so when im on the it lowers my revs abit and keep my normal one in the front in my opinion id of thought it would be ok because i only use 4x4 when im off roading but wanted some one else opinion thanks.

As soon as you engage 4x4 the front end will want to go at a different speed to the back end so no... Dont do it even if you never plan to use the 4x4 system inevitably some one will engage it at some point and I rekon that with the range rover diff in the back and series diff in the front that the back wheeles would be going faster than the front ending up with you doing donuts in the mud. VERY BAD IDEA!!!!

thanks ill not bother its just id got a choice of a standard 1 and a range rover one.

Yep... change both. If you had engaged 4x4 it would have found whatever the weakest link in you drive train front ujs or mabey your gearbox. If you change both you will loose acceleration but gain a better cruising speed. Depends what you use it for most of the time?

yea i knew id could change both but what is my rear one`s shaged and my mates got a spaire one of each so i just wanted to know if could get away the one to aid cruisein speed so tomorrow it will be havin a standard one fitted thanks for the advise.
