saw this on another forum and thought maybe someone on here would know what it is:-

A friend of mine asked me to pop over his farm to try and identify a camper he found on his land, it has no identity but has a perkins 6 cylinder diesel with coloum change, steering wheel and door fittings look american, all clocks are smiths, cab is fiberglass, doors are steel, the rest is of landrover type construction but far bigger being aluminium with rivets,

Looks like a steel body judging via the state of the front wings. Don't think it is Homemade though, if it is, it is a bloody good job!

Can't find out make via normal things (Normally mycarcheck shows the make..)

HPI check? Only a couple of quid

dont have a clue..never seen anything like that...

but.. "he found on his land" ?? how big is his land that he finds things?

the guy who posted up reckons it had no identity on it at all, and obviously its sat there a long time, so there maybe no DVLA records for it.

as for how big is his land, i could find about six cars on mine, but at least i know what they are, this guy must have a small county to be able to find a car that has sat for 10+ years and not know what it is

Initially I thought the Cab to be an Austin A40 Van, but I think the cab is infact a Humber Super Snipe Mark IV (1952-1957)....the non-suicide doors and coachline crease below the windows give the game away...choo choo...I'll get me coat...;)

Rest looks home made! Whats with the Land/Roller lookey-likey front wing/light/grille combo.....yuk!

Do shows the link! I normally use the Dvla one, but it is useuless without the make

I can see Humberish, but M reg? 74, looks more like 54 to me.
Speedo in the middle of the dash (even LR didn't have that in 74) full chrome horn ring etc.
I don't think the mystery is totally solved yet.
Of course it's possible the registration and chassis plate don't actually match the vehicle, but surely no one would do anything like that.
