So I finally got the rear prop shaft off and the gearbox free to move back and out. So as i'm swinging it out on a strap. the strap snaps and the gearbox is now lying handbrake down on the floor just behind the gearbox cross member. Some of the spring ends on my clutch plate have been deflected out slightly by a mm or 2.

So I'm gonna try get the gearbox lying flat on a sheet of ply under the 109 then jack up one side to slide it out. Will it work?

Will the clutch be ok? Will the springs just settle with use or will it stuff the thing up?

Thank you all

Will

I'dve thought the box would still be ok.
If the clutch is old then change it, if its a newun try and reassemble the whole lot, if it wont go together you've fecked it.
They can stand a good amount of messing about with, you'll probably get away with it.
