Hi all on my freelander 1 td4 every now and then car won't start and just turns over and I have to unscrew camshaft sensor and slightly move it and it will start up happens about once or twice a week tested ground and live to sensor when it happened and would not start and where fine what do u suggest I do next these sensors ain't cheap so maybe this has happened to someone else and has a fix ?

usually when the cam shaft sensor is going the engine will not start when it is hot as soon as it cools down it will I would get a new one I now always carry a spare as my first freelander suffered from this and I nearly lost it to the sea as I was on a beech until my friend saw me and towed me off with his defender.

Since the KV6 Freelander uses the same camshaft position sensor as the BMW 3 series (E90), I wonder if the TD4 sensor would also come from BMW.

If you search on eBay for this part number: 1362779464, the parts seem to match visually. Finding a cheap one from China might be worth the experiment, that is what I did with the KV6.
