Can I remove tha passanger airbag do I can fit a grab handle?

as title says really, I have got a passanger airbag and I dont want it, I would rather a grab handle instead. Can I simply rip out the airbag or did they completely change the dash where it fits? It looks like its an afterthought add on but I dont feel that lucky...

Hi i had the same on my old 300 tdi took out the air bag but the dash was cutout to allow airbag to fit so i changed the whole dash, hope this helps , maybe only way for you is to take airbag out and see if urs is the same.

As the shortarse above, the dash construction is very different for pre-airbag dash so you will unable to fit a grab handle and keep the dash looking standard. You will soon see the hole when u remove the bag.
