Hello peeps, so the front prop rear uj is the one causing my clunking, can I remove the prop and still drive ok, it's on a disco 2 td5 auto, never had an auto with all this electrickery stuff.

Yes, but only if you have the Centre Diff Lock.
If you don't have the CDL lever, check underneath to feel the CDL operating spigot, just above the output flange on the T-Box. If it's there operate it with a spanner to lock the CDL, if not then you're stuffed.

Ha I think I am stuffed, I've got a 2003 and reading ab9ut the cdl it won't be fitted, I will however have a look anyway.
At least I can cycle to local parts supplier and should be able to fix where I am.
Cheers Brian

Make sure you physically check, don’t trust any information on this one point. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme nor reason as to which had it and which didn’t.... actually pull the transfer lever gater and the foam under it away and check. You may be pleasantly surprised.

well it doesn't look like I am in luck, that plate w8th 4 x 8mm head bolts is not coming off....

So my next question is can I just replace one of the ujs or do I have to do both and the bearing in the hookes joint?
Being a bit skint I only got one uj kit, I can do the other and the bearing in a week or so.
Looking at it I should be able to do the one only, it's the inner uj that's knackered, no movement in the one closest to the transfer box.
