You want combination spanners 'cos you cant get the ring on the rear front prop bolt heads. The socket is just to speed things up when youve got 'em slack.

well.
i took off prop this morning and faffed about trying to get into the workshop and trying to get them to let me use the press but vice and club did it.
then realised that cups were busted and broken, as were bearing and the inside faces of the yoke and yoke on shaft where cups sit were in bad condition, so went and got myself i new prop.
i'd had propblem with vibration on the prop since i got the landy over a year and 12000miles ago but put up with it till it got bad. new one is silky smooth and quiet.

glad you got it sorted buddy when it comes to changing mine i will head over to swansea for a helping hand. then i will buy you a pint in the monkey bar... if they still serve pints. full of english softies now aint it? haha!

a complete knob head could change the prop. 8 nuts and make sure u put it in the rite way round.
so dont think u'd need my help....unless ur a complete nob head

Nice to know, I've got one of those "difflock knuckle protector,socket doo dar jobbies" that I aint used yet!

The monkey bar is over by castle gardens. quite a chilled out joint. used to go there to watch bands when they had the upstairs. but i think its owned by other people now so it may be crap. glad it sounds easy, my rear one may need doing in the next few months. hit too many rocks.

Have you tried greasing your nipples yet? My grease gun won't fit in the gap between the yokes. Bloody pattern parts!

Nah I've got two and there both ridgid but it's the girth of the bizzniss end thats the problem it's too fat. I will surgically remove some to make it thinner and it should enter easier.

Does it fit the new ones from Paddocks though? They both fitted the last one.

No idea mate - fits mine with about 1/4 inch free space either side - want me to measure the tip of mine?

14.9mm and 15.15mm.

Mines between 13 and 14mm measured as best I could with a tape measure (don't have a micrometer)

Doubtful 1mm or so is going to make enough difference

Nah I could just get the nipple and nozzle to touch so reckon I'd need a bit more.

Eh? The tip of mine is solid with the expanding bit that goes over the nipple inside it - if you can get a 15mm one to touch but not engage then the little halfrauds one will probably do the job.
