Can anyone recommend a good garage or mechanic in the Greater Manchester area please?

We've just bought an 06 td4 (diesel) and want to get it serviced. Can anyone recommend someone? We live near Oldham. The only one I've been able to find doing a search on here was in Middlewich
which is a fair distance from us.

We've booked in at a place in Oldham called S&P Lomas, good reviews on the good garage site. Anyone ever used them?

Pending where you are neighbour Turners on Oldham Rd opposite Texaco garage happily recommend. If S&P Lomas is good let us know or us fellow freelanders users. Another one on Chadderton is Landsdown motors next door to Kwikfit.

Thanks for that, always good to have an alternative. We're near Grotton so both are pretty local. I'll let you know how we get on at S&P, it's booked in for a service on Thursday so fingers crossed.

Just an update.

We had the service done at S&P Lomas and they seem to have done a good job, we knew when it went in that there was a problem with the fuel pump, which they sorted quickly. Not the cheapest probably as the full service cost us £290 (inc' diagnostic) the pump was on top of that but it seems to run better for it (I would hope). There were at least four other land rovers in there for servicing etc which seems a good recommendation if several owners are taking their cars to them.

Might give Turners a try next time.

he is honest and very good. I use him for all the stuff on my skoda, the only reason I don't get him to work on the landie is because I like doing it.

as I say he is very good and really trust worthy.
