i have a disco 2 commercial 04 reg.the problem.indicators intermittent and clocks intermittent.funny enough when the engine has been running for a few hours, the indicators work but the clocks flash on and off.with numerous lights on the dash.had it in my local garage but they couldn't sort it.has anyone come across this problem before. thanks for any help you can give.

Hi, confirm that when you say indicators you mean the exterior lights too not just te dash indication........ if the exterior lights are doing it too first of all(if the guys from the garage didnt do that) and nothing else is misbehaving you should rule out the interior fusebox cos it's quite common to be ruined by water ingress/corrosion, not very expemsive, e'g
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rov...035055&hash=item3b2d54f41a:g:ox8AAOSwH5NcipbG

untill it's not ruled out would be inefficient to chase other things like circuit/wiring isues cos that can be a nightmare and you have to be sure it's something like that before starting a complex troubleshooting

if you decide to do that make sure that the fusebox is removed from a late facelift D2 cos even though they appear on ebay as being suitable for all the modells they are not the same... the worst scenario is to be a BCU issue which needs complex programming with tester... sorry

yes the actual indicators.when you say rule out the fusebox,do you mean its possible it could be that. thanks
Yes, in case you are lucky it's that cos in the worst case it's a BCU or a wiring issue but the fusebox is suspect and it's almost plug and play which means to disconnect the battery first then after the fusebox swap and battery reconnection turn ignition on II and let it so 5 minutes as the IDM(intelligent driver module, part of the fusebox) and BCU to regain digital data communication.... if that's checked and the symptom still persists i'll tell you what to do

And probably a bit of luck too - Good Luck !

And if it is water ingress, to state the completely obvious, make sure the hole / leak / whatever is found and cured .... or you'll be needing another fusebox down the line :D

Hi people, has anyone in or near the wirral got diagnostic tool they would put on my td5. mot is due soon and it won't pass with the lights on the dash.apart from the fault mentioned its been a good car and would be a shame to scrap it.
