Can a shuttle valve switch be replaced in-situ?

Yes it can be done in situ, but often its not the switches at fault. The link that goes between the multiplug on the front of the block and where the switch pack plugs in underneath is what goes open circuit.
I have sorted out a way to fix it properly, which is similar to what I found on a US hummer site. (They use the same ****ty components) So have a google around ....

Cheers for that. I have tested it on my Hawkeye and on another tester at a local garage and they both say shuttle valve switch is the problem so going to have to go with that as a start point

Thats the one,and the latter part showing the wires going out the bottom of the black plastic switch pack is the way I do it,joining the wire into the loom and earth.Like I said its rarely the actual switches - but Testbook,Hawkeye or any other tester will still say an SVS failure,it just cant see plausible values from them so it logs a fault and puts the lights on.Done loads of them - garages get in a right old pickle with them and let me sort them,in reality its a piece of cake.;)
