Hello, did anyone timed the camshaft chain on 2.2 fl2 and remembers what is the actual mark?
There are two marks, dots and arrows. Workshop manual says align on dots which is not possible cause the dots are between the cam teeth so the link will not land properly.

But then, purchased toppix 1h access to documentation and they say to use on arrows. So I am not sure which one at this point. Should have taken pictures but I was too confident I have the right info/documentation.

I seem to remember, that when the pulley was pinned in the correct timing slot, it was pretty obvious which timing mark to use. The pulley could be pinned in a couple of locations, but only one is correct.
When the pulley is in the correct pin location, the mark for the chain is visible, so the inlet cam is simply put in a position that mirrors the exhaust.

That is a very good idea, crank on tdc and pulley with pin in now. So whichever shows at 11/12ish clock I will use. I am hoping also that the topix documentation showing also the groove at end and cam position will help.

I've found an image that I think was taken while the cam was pinned in the timing position. It shows the drive slots on the other end for the pumps in the 6-12 o'clock orientation.
I'm sure I did inlet cam timing by mirroring the exhaust cam marks, putting the timing chain mirrored too.

Alright thanks, sorted now.
For whoever lands on this page seeking info, the discoloured or gold links need to align with the arrows, and cams should be in this position.
Also pin IN the cam locked.
