Getting ready to fit my 3.9 engine with it's new camshaft. Can anyone recommend a good break in oil or additive that is available in the uk? Only finding US suppliers online.

You should get special lube with the cam kit. Coat lobes and tappet bases with it. Also some STP poured along the cam will help. On first startup run engine at 1500/2000 RPM for at least five minutes.

Yes cam, lifters and the rockers and push rods are all smeared in Crower camshaft grease already. What I'm looking for is a readily available motor oil with lots of zddp to fill the sump with.

Normal oil and a couple of cans of STP is all i can offer you. Has always worked for me. Classic 20/50 motor oil with lots of zinc is best and the STP but don't use the Halfrauds one, zinc content is reported not to be up to scratch. Obviously don't run engine at high speed until oil lamp goes out.

Thanks for that. Using the search function has brought up comma sonic 20/50 as a good option. Will try my local comma stockist for some of that.
