I've just brought a set of 235/85/16 BFG AT's and have read I need to camel cut my rear arches, but mine's an XS so has those extended plastic arches.
Can I still camel cut without removing the arches ?

The whole idea of a camel cut! is to enlarge the wheel arch, in order to allow larger wheels, to be fitted. WTF are you going to attach the plastic arches to, once you've cut away the wheel arch?????

The plastic arches only come down as far as the normal rub strips, so only cover 1/2 of the arch.

After a lot of searching google came up with an American site that shows it done with my arches, so I'll give it a go and see if I can get enough clearance.

This is with standard tyres

This is with the 235/85/16's

This is a closer look at the rear

I'll be adding a 2" lift to the front (rear has HD springs so is higher anyway), extended break pipes, cutting the bumper end caps and doing the steering stops.
Anything else I need to do ?

you shouldnt need to touch the steering stops with 235's , but im very dubious about you lifting the front and not the rear ? buy a full kit and sell hd springs as they will be 2 inch lower

I have the same plastic arches 2" lift (xs) tried to keep them but it hits all over , including bending my door :( buying a flexi arch set up now

I had the same problem you've got now,

Had a saggy +2 light all round and at the rears my mud tires bent the body work,

You can cut from the plastic downwards so it doesnt catch on the corners and thats what happened to me

Festerer, you have modulars so the tyres will be offset, I'm running standard XS alloys, so no offset. I'm hoping this will reduce the rubbing due to sitting well inside the arches.

I didn't fit the rear springs but am told they're HD's, what I do know is the rear is about 2" higher than standard.
