I have a 23mm timing cam belt with manual tensioner on my freelander, i went to pick up a replacement kit from the shop and checked the belt it was 26mm with a manual tensioner, i told the shop it was the wrong kit, i need a 23mm belt not a 26mm belt that's for the automatic tensioner, they told me that's the manual kit they got delivered 26mm belt and manual tensioner.

Do new manual cam belt kits use a 26mm belt and a bigger tensioner or have they ordered the wrong kit, i didn't buy it.

I've been looking online at some manual cam belt kits and they also include a 26mm belt.

I want to replace like for like a 23mm belt, is this the correct part number for a 23mm belt LHN100390, i'll try and buy the belt and tensioner separately if i can't get the right kit.

I've ordered a timing belt kit with tensioner online from a company that only sells rover and mg parts, they were clued up on exactly what i needed a 23mm belt and manual tensioner.

Trying to buy the right part from companies who sell parts for all vehicles most don't have the knowledge of the parts they are selling they're just sales agents.

Fingers crossed the postie will deliver it early next week.

I believe some of the problem may stem from Landrover its self. I have just replaced my brake light switch and on looking at the part number on it and looking at the chassis number then according to Landrover its the wrong one it s the old style 90 degree one Landrover say by the chasis number it should be the new one with the extra loom for it to work. I know its the original brake light switch factory fitted so some things wrong with the records

Parts get upgraded over time. Hence a new part number supersedes the old, as it's said to be the same or an improvement. You would hope there's no mistakes but I've found some in the past.

digi, if you pm me your vin number I will see if my microcat 2014 can advise the correct part. We can then use the web to see if the part number has been updated.
