Just got my lr4 serviced. Pads were gone complete. As a result my 22’’ Range Rover wheels are covered in brake dust and rust.... got the alloys powder coated black a few months back and they now look terrible. I have hot washed, applied tfr and also applied rust fall out. Still have residue especially on inside off rim - looks terrible ..... any ideas how to renovate guys...? also thinking of painting calibers to take away the old look. Any tips

What's making the rims look bad? Is it brake dust embedded in the finish, or some form of corrosion coming from underneath the powder coating?
Also 22" RR rims might not be rated for the weight of the D4, so could fail if you run through a big pothole. But that's a whole other story.

Never heard the rating story before.... corrosion definitely brake dust. Have removed some of it already in the surface of the alloy but thought there must be an easier way. Thanks for the reply
I have used dust shealds between the wheel and the the discs, downside you cannot see your calliper
But at least the wheels stay clean,
I have just rebuilt my callipers with stainless pistons and painted the callipers with the proper heat resistance paint,

It will be your brake pads, you need low dust ones, ie EBC Greenstuff.
Cheap pads make loads of dust/rust.
The D3/4 are very heavy 7 seat cars, hence the need for the corrct load rating tyres and wheels.
I always think big wheels with standard brakes look silly.

With a 2.7 ton unladen weight vehicle, the wheels and tyres need to be correctly rated.
I know of a D3 owner who drove through a pothole, which cracked an under rated 20" RR wheel, causing the tyre to detach from the rim, which pulled the vehicle over the curb and into a wall. Luckily there was nobody on the pavement, but the vehicle was a write off, and the insurance refused to pay the claim as the wheels and tyres weren't to LR load specifications.
