Hi there,

Is there a difference between the solid disc calipers and the vented other than a spacer between the calipers.

Ive seen some OE vented calipers on ebay, that seem considerably cheaper that solid that i can buy off the net.

I just wondered if i could fit these to my solid disc defender once i have removed the spacers. Need to know 100% as with the uncertainty, i may aswell buy the right ones.

Thanks a lot

If you do it give me a shout if you are interested in selling the spacers and longer bolts (assuming they are for a four pot calliper)

i think it's just the spacers.. but obv you need the vented disc if you want to convert!

i didn't realise you had solids, that one was vented lol

btw, it's meant to be a lil fiddly adding the spacers to other calipers incase anyone wanted to upgrade some.

Cheers mate. Yeah I'll remove the spacers if its the caliper body is the same. For some reason i can get the vented calipers cheaper if i go with OEM. Its a fair chunk too

its easy ,caliper bodies are the same vented or solid

If you are going to go to all the trouble why not just rebuild your old ones?
New seals and stainless pistons and you have a better unit than the ones you plan to buy.
