cobblers.just use a slower speed or just keep pushing the grinding paste back in using your finger.simples.like thor said,if a yank can do it???

by hand is better..

i assume youn lot do an oil test after??

and here Doc is why one ought to strip down engine while one has the chance and replace bearings etc..

number 2 main cap upper bearing..30yrs old..but i dont think gm installed them in two halves cut down the middle!

This week the EWP arrives and a few other goodies. Ordered a new set of plugs for the beast, NGK BP4, oil and the engine mounts are being modified to fit as we made them a little too long for the chassis.

Gonna fit it with the bellhousing and possibly box attached to get an idea of what height to sit it at. But with the series suspension being raised a little I've got some leeway. Collecting some steel next week to do the box adaptors and mounts. Measure and mark out the bolt holes and central shaft hole in both then drill to the same size before welding in a piece of pipe to align them and act as an extra brace before welding the plate together with some 2x2 box laid in as a spacer

what grade oil does it take?

15-40 mineral 5 quarts so need to convert that to litres or pints before I go down to the tractor shop to get it

Imperial and Merkin quarts are different

5 US liquid quarts = 4.7l

Proper quarts is 5.8l

That does not include 1 qt for the filter 5qt is for oil pan
