Why do sellers fill the need to lie and think they get away with it.

Twice now I have fallen victim to two sellers who claimed there 90 came with "full service history" only to look in the service book and see 4 stamps missing on one and 5 on the other, further more no actual receipts for the so called services having been done.

then they say "Oh my mate did the work" I can get him to stamp the book.

not even any bills to prove the work or parts done.
surely that's not to much to ask is it.

Is that just Auto Trader for you or Muppets hoping to get away with it.

I'm looking to spend £6,000 any "True" dealers or sellers out there please.

I was dead lucky with mine, it genuinely did have LR FSH. All receipts, invoices etc. One of the previous owners even had a running total of repairs written on the back of one invoice. Over 4k just on maintenance!

None of that stopped mine breaking down though!

I bought mone for 3,500 I think a few years back. It had a nice folder of receipts going back to the 90's but no log book or stamps. For 6k you are probably going to get a landy that is slightly older and as a result you will probably not get a service book. I was more interested to see the receipts rather than the dealers stamps as that told me what had been done and whether it was done properly. At 6k most people will probably be doing the servicing themselves - I am not being funny, I can afford to pay someone to service my landy but I choose to do it myself and is part of the reason that I bought the damn thing in the first place was because I wanted to work on it and get dirty. I suspect you would find lots of people with this mindset and hence few 90's with a nicely stamped LR FSH at this price point.
