Buying a disco 4

Hello interested in in purchasing a discovery 4 around 2009-2012 I know the vehicle vehicle specs quite well differences ie 8 speed to 6 etc interested if the 8 speed is really worth the extra 6000 pound or so. Think my budget is limited to the 6 speed model but would be interested to views between the two. I could stretch to the 8. I won’t be doing a lot of miles so buying a high mileage could be ok for me as long as I can feel I can’t trust don’t want a 7000 engine rebuild to deal with.

From what I’ve heard D4s are not without their monetary needs. 4.4bmw not a bad engine, you’ll hear nightmare-stories on them all. Sometimes it’s luck of the draw but most are still around which says a lot

Thanks I bought a tdv8 3.6 on 57 plate evoque. In the end older, and more rusty but motor and box sound sweet. 96660 miles water in boot though how do I sort that..
