Well, I was driving my 90 this morning, when it all went a bit pear-shape. I got out and was confronted with my nearside front tyre in bits. The wall had come away from the tread in several places, and it was completely deflated (obviously).

I've only relatively recently bought the vehicle and it came with Anaconda Greenway (remoulds). They look fantastic, and are great in the mud, but this has worried me a lot.

I would never have gone for remoulds myself, but I didn't think they'd go t*ts up in such dramatic fashion. I was told they were rated 'k' (good for 75 mph). I've not topped this, but do a reasonable amount of motorway driving in my 90.

Has anyone experienced anything similar, or can anyone recommend any tyres that are a) rugged b) safe on-road and c) cheap (ish).

Thanks very much in advance for your help.

On another note which are the best jacks to use on 90s, as I had to borrow a mate's this morning.

what size tyres do you run?

don't take this tyre as an all remoulds are ****, greenway haven't been a tyre manufacturer since 2007 when they went into administration...... although they have a speed rating i wouldn't have used the anaconda on the road for anything more than short journeys

if you want cheapish tyres you are going to have to look to remoulds really insa turbo are good if you do quite a bit of motorway driving stick to an all terrain rather than an out nad out mud plugger like the ones you have on

Look on e bay for either a disco 300 or td5 bottle jack as they are two stage so you get a decent bit of lift.
I bought one on there recently cost under 20 pounds to my door and it had never been used no scratch marks on the bottom totally mint.
Hi lift jacks are also good but if you have a lift kit or extended shock you have got to lift it a long way to get the wheels of the floor, also pretty unstable if you dont know what you are doing.

Thanks for the replies, very helpful. I'm running 235/85/16 at the moment, looking to get a replacement for the spare. As changing to Insas would mean buying four new tyres, I'll probably just get another one similar to the ones on at the moment.
