Hi fokes

I've just brought a bulkhead I was thinking about repairing and galvanising. Is there anyone 1 local that does that type of work. If not what do I need to do with regards galvanising.

Cheers steve

Sorry my bad.

near buxton derbyshire

I wouldnt post yer postcode, mate. Not good for security! ;)

There are quite a few old dicussions about bukhead repair and galv, try forum search, and read up on it.

It can do a nice job, but worth taking a bit of care over, there are a few common pitfalls.

Frank hand in Nottingham offer good quality galvanising but not cheap, there's a place in Stoke on Trent I've heard good things about but yet to try them. Bear in mind that the galv sometimes sits on welds more than plain steel so will need more work afterwards to achieve a smooth finish. @aaronmorris may have a contact number of the place he used. @XRIZLAX IS a galvaniser.

I used the Wedge group (Worksop galv) for my galvanising.
Pretty happy with the finish on the whole, pricing was reasonable, but communication wasn't the best which ****ed me off.

XRIZLAX works at Joseph ash from memory, he has done some bits and bobs for me and I have been happy with the quality, and they are probably closer to you than who I used above.

Just done mine, I braced the bottom of it with some 50mm angle and instructed them to allow air cool. Have a picture but can't upload for some reason

I didn't brace mine in any shape or form, still fits on the chassis just as it did prior to being dipped, and doesn't seem to have warped, doors line up etc..
