Hia all. I have brought a bulkhead removal bar part numb DA1810 the tubular one from paddocks. I didn't realise till I brought it they reccommend taking the roof off to drill holes for fixing brackets. Has anyone fitted one without taking the roof off. Is it possible to weld the brackets in rather than drilling the holes. Newbie to this and dont realy want to take the roof off and have someone who is good at welding who could help out. Thanks

If you haven't already, have a look at this, doesn't answer your question but may help you make a decision

Thanks but I did see this video after I brought the bar, just thought it would be easier ta weld the top brackets to the body capping if I can’t get the drill in as I think this is steel , just thought has anyone done this ta make life easier

Taking the roof and sides off is not a difficult job at all. It is only held on by he four corner bolts in the tub and along the windscreen.
If you did not want to remove the whole roof it is possible to leave the roof in place and just remove the side panel. Unbolt the tub corner bolts, unbolt the top of the side panel from the roof, and then carefully lift the rear of the roof just high enough to slide out the side panel. There is enough flex in the roof and screen this is achievable.
If ing to the effort to fit the removal bar I would go to a little more effort to do it properly.

Thanks for advice and I think I will take the side panels out as advised as I am having some time off work to do this and giving the truck complete refurb so will be in pieces anyhow
