Hello folkes,
any help would be much appreciated. On my way home from work last night, just coming off the motorway when I heard a funny noise coming from underneath the front drivers side. Just like I had picked up a piece of wire. The red batterylight came on and my temperature gauge began to sore. I put the heater on straight away to get rid of the temperature and slowed right down. I then noticed my power steering had gone. When I got home after a slow drive I picked out some broken cable/s from under the front drivers side engine compartment. Have the auxillery belts broken? Do you think I have caused any damage? My local friendly garage have said they will check it out for me on Monday. Will it be costly?
Thanks

Thanks for your help. Garage replaced both belts. Not a bad price. Landy back on the Road with everything working. Happy days.
Cheers
Nick.

Not a bad job changing the drive and air con belts on the TD4, the worst part is removing the sump guard as the bolts can seize. The drive belt tensioner is a great idea (as long as you're reasonably strong and have a shallow cranked combi spanner) and the air con belt is a doddle.

Found it easier with the guard off and the Haynes manual advises the guard removal, but if you can do it without that's the way to go.
