The first batch or two will be excellent. Once the peasants are hooked (no pun intended), Sh1tpart will start buying remnants, "B grade" and overstock from the manufacturer. I am not willing to put my life in the hands of a product that may or may not work when I need it.

Imagine the Sh1tpart 12000lb remote control winch failing halfway through pulling up a little lattice mast and the structure collapsing. I just can't take that chance.
 
have never had a problem with my db 9500i and have owned it for the last 18 months plus, it has been used with alarming regularity just latley, not just for self recovery but to rescue others, in my opinion this is not a bad winch (its not a warn) and you pay for what you get. if you look after it and clean and service it regularly it should not give you any trouble.
 
I've got the DB8000 on the 300Tdi. It came with the truck so I'm happy enough although I haven't used it as such, just unspooled and respooled to check.

The problem I have is that the Defender came without instructions for the winch. I can't get it to free-spool unwind, which is a PITA, and I'd like to know more about what to service etc. Anyone got any information or point me to relevent details? I've tried Googling. :(

why lie you havent even got it mounted on your car and you dont even go off roading so why say you have used it with alrming regularity when its stuck in a box in your garage

yeah he never goes off roading cus his missus wont let him but he makes out to everyone that doesnt know him that he is an EXTREAM off roader when the fact is the one time he did go he scrached his car and went home in a mood

Ow although its probably a lovely mota I just noticed that who ever built it went to all the great lengths of building a superb offroad machine, roll cage raised bumper etc and then completly lost the plot and left the low down rear tow point! Sad! Sad!! Sad!! Anyone that does the real serious stuff would **** themselves I'm sure!!!! Jai
