In the UK, thankfully.
Are they any good, the Britpart leaf springs for a Series landy and how much are they new? Not looking for the usual rush of blood to the brain replies about Britpart but has anyone here actually bought a pair and were they any good? Thanks.

for £30 to £40 each your not going to get the best ,i fitted alot most have been fine in that they worked some went flat overnight ,were replaced so just extra work usually just one ,occasional use why not ,frequent use i want some proper springs

Well.perhaps I have been lucky then but my springs have lasted me some time now with no real signs of sag. They have not had an easy life, either.

I've got Britpart Parabolics... had them on for 2 years now... they are flat at the rear and not quite flat at the front - but - for something to throw about on lanes, etc. they are ok for now.
The bushes which come in them are also s**t

Would i buy them again? Not a chance!

have only recently bought a series 3 and already I would avoid Brit part bits at all costs. They seem to only cause more problems than they solve. Why do Paddocks sell brit parts?

The moral of this is to buy the best that you can afford ... the better the quality the longer they will last!

However, don't buy ****part unless your wallet gives you no other choice!!

I did a lot of research on springs and ended up with GB Springs as my choice. So they turned up not packaged well and had a few scratches on them...

...A phone to GB springs and the MD of the company was in his car with a tin of paint!

...Anyway I fitted them and was not really happy as they felt too hard. next day a 2 leaf set arrived in the post! (wouldn't reccoment going for 2 leafs, but my landy is significantly lighter than a standard one!!!!)

I really, really cannot fault the after market service of this company. The quality of the springs is amazing but more importantly the ride is truly transformed. They have been coping with a sh1t load of power, and have had no signs of dropping after 1 year of me not been very kind to them!!!!

My point is this, they are not the cheapist, but why waste money on a sh1te product when you can have a good quality product built in the UK....

Oh with extended shackles they move car up about 3"....

My project Landy has 2 new springs one on front, one on rear. The stickers are still on them but cant make out the supplier. How much for a full set of GB ones?

I bough britpart standard springs for the back of my series 3, that was about 2 years ago and all i really use it for is towing hay around the fields and it gets used for shunting huge trailers and caravans around the yard, they are still sitting like they did when i put them on and the ride was noticeably improved (mind you the old ones were almost bending the wrong way and were rusted solid)

Can't remember who did them, but there used to be a place which would harden and temper your leaf springs to the original LR specs.

I seem to think that they were based in Yorkshire and the MD was one of the most knowledgeable mettalurgical engineers I have ever met! Apart from which, she was drop-dead gorgeous ... and unfortunately she was also married to a surgeon!!

Have a look for heat treatment engineers in the Leeds/Bradford/Halifax/Huddersfield areas.

She did all four of my my Series I leaf springs for me as a favour ... Don't ask!!

They could also repair them id the eues had broken off!
