I replaced the draglink on my D2 with a britpart one in January

My steering has got sloppy and i have found serious wear in both ball joints on the draglink

2 months, and less than 1500 miles, and its hanging apart

Has anyone else had similar problems with these units? Or have i just got a bad one?

cheers

After you changed it ....... Did you get a new front end alignment, and tyres balanced?

I've had a new Genuine part ball joint fail or wear in only 700miles so much it was mentioned at the MOT. No trouble with the replacement now two years on.

I only replaced the original one which had a split shroud for the MOT:).

So it's not unknown.

Yes it will puts opposing force on things causing excess or premature wear

I wouldn't say any more than running fully laden on twisty roads for two months and a new landy wouldn't wear joints out that fast.:)

I had the wheels balanced and tracking done as a matter of course

I know its easy to overlook this, but what with the price of decent tyres now 20 or 30 quid on tracking seems good value

Ive just received a replacement, i had to buy it, so the old one can be returned to britpart, be interestinfg to see what they say!
