i just spent the last few hours replacing the wiper switch on my 200.
i cant relocate the small bolts into their holes so i remove the switch and somewhat unsurprisingly find that the bolt holes have not been threaded.
why am i not suprised.i will take the part back to the supplier but have no faith in patent parts.they always seem to be inferior poor quality.
i suppose the price reflects the quality.£98-original.£22-patent.
the patent part was br#tpart.

depends on what part u using...
and how tight you are, for example:
britpart rear mudflaps are 1.72ea wholesale
land rover rear mudflaps are 17.76ea wholesale
you get the idea...
after a while u get too know what is to be avoided and what is acceptable...
try allmakes pattern stuff also...

i had problems with britp#rt before.i should have known better.
i will look at parts with a fine tooth comb in future.
but you know as well as i do,original parts are way over priced.
can anyone recommend good patent brands you can trust?

I must confess that one britpart that has done well is my seat bases, bloody comfy anorl :)

Other than that i tend to steer well clear of em.

personally i have never had any problems with britpart gear, saying that any cam belts i replace i use OE equipment just in case,
Bearmarch and Allmakes 4x4 supply good patten parts

Again, never had any problems with Britpart items and believe me I have been using them for many years.
Maybe you were unlucky with the wiper switch and it slipped through quality control, I have had them in the past and not had problems (not with fitting or reliability). Don't assume that just because it is packaged Britpart it is made by them, it is possible it was made by the OE manufacturer or the same one that makes aftermarket parts for all the other suppliers. Any differences in the part could just be down to the fact that in the 15-years since your original switch was made they have altered the design slightly which while it shouldn't have affected fitting in this case it might have.

I have had genuine items that are faulty when taken out of the wrapper, the odd item falls through the net whatever the brand.
