I am hoping to purchase a 2007/2008 Range Rover Vogue 3.6 TDV8 with Overfinch conversion with 70000-80000 miles on clock. Can I please have some advice on what to look for (sorry if this info is on the site elsewhere).

In particular, are the gearboxes ok (unlike the earlier ones).

Many thanks in advance.

I think the best advice is hope for the best but be prepared for the worst.
That's not me being negative, I love my L322 but you need to be realistic, things will go wrong.
Mine is an earlier td6 so some of the issues may have been sorted on later models.
I'd check steering wheel rake, if it works on the motor up and down great but if it has free movement up or just drops down then it can be an expensive fix,
Rear wiper motors are a prone failure I fixed mine for £70
Dash pixels can fail I believe £100 will fix this
Door lock issues and folding mirror issues are a cheap fix
Rear bushes are prone to wear but aren't expensive and can be done with a ramp
Other than an engine issue I've fixed all the faults cheaply and without needing to go to a garage, you will need a diagnostic tool but I bought an icarsoft reader for £100,
My car is high mileage 230,000 but has been well serviced so personally I'd go on condition rather than trust any paperwork.
I'm sure other people will try to put you off but if it's nice and it's a good price then buy it and enjoy it, just don't get down when something fails, all modern cars break, and are expensive to fix, just be smart where you spent the money

Thanks for the advice guys. I’ve had six P38s (including two Overfinch conversions) and two V8 L322s so far...I had a very bad (expensive) experience with my last V8 with lpg L322 - timing chains/Vanos/gearbox issues - swore I would never buy a Range Rover again (famous last words!) - so bought an X5 which is good but it ain’t no Range Rover! I think once you’ve had a Range Rover you’ll always want another......I think the best advice is to buy one with a decent history and keep a couple of grand handy for when it makes the ‘expensive noises’ we all know about!

Keep the advice coming please, thanks.

Condsidering a 2010 3.6 tdv8 with Overfinch conversion, 63000 miles, full history.....has the digital dash, dual view front screen etc. Any nightmares to worry about with this model/year? Thanks in advance.....

Is that 3.6 engine the same one that went in the Jag? If so the inlet manifolds crack so check that. Smoke will show.

Bemble is best for gearbox advice. Man is a legend.

You really want a P38 ...
