Break is or sell as is??

Just had the dreaded call that my 300TDI has tin worm in all the usual mounting places and crashed and burned the MoT. Few other little issues (easy fixes) but the welding is a couple of days and I just don't have the time or skill.

Engine is good (172k with recent cam belt etc) and auto box works fine, no leaks from engine or into cabin as have fixed them all.

Break it or sell it? Thinking about £750 (well under what I paid for it!).

Really hacked off!

They are worth bugger all complete, I couldnt sell my 1996 ES with tax/mot and £3K's worth of goodies for £1500!!

Strip it, you will make more money, weigh in is £250, engine and boxes £400, axles £100 and then you still got all the suspension, interior, electrics and panels to go!

im in the same boat with me 200tdi.... either weld in a complete floor , break it or get shot .

i just dont need the hassel of trying to sell it in bits, aint got the time or the inclination to fix it on the drive during the winter., all the seats and carpets would have to come out and be stored , twill be going on fleabay as is , probably this evening,

anyone want a h reg 5 door 200tdi,about 170k, last week id have been happy to drive it to scotland....got mot till dec 21.

Thanks- may have to go that route. Real shame as I am quite attached to the thing! Has a ticket to the end of the month so will prob go for one final Laning trip then wave goodbye.

by complete floor you mean the boot? its a days work and sixty quid max,. to get it out and get a new one in yourself. the front foot wells are the worst imo, the rear passenger footwells are easy enough on a five door. if its just floor panels I'd count yourself lucky and get her fixed up!
