I am looking for info on the PVC Valve. (Pressure crankcase vapour) I think.
My brakes keep freezing up. It takes both feet with all my might to stop the vehicle. 2003 Freelander. I'm looking for helpful pics on the system so I can
repair the problem. I blow out the tubes & the breaks are back but would really like to fix the problem but I have no manuel for the car. Bought it used & am slowly getting it fixed. I do love it so.
Thanks from 2EE

You do not actually need the whole BMW 'Breather' Kit.

All you really need to get is the innards - £23 - it fits easy - no need for the cover as well at £60.

LandRover agents have never heard of it.

BMW Parts Dept - ask for part Nr. B11.12.7.799.367 Oil Separator - £23.35

Enjoy your motor. :D

:) not sure why you think the fault lies with the crankcase ventilation system? try the phoo phoo valve or even the giggling pin first.

I am confused by this question and the answer given - if your brakes don't work then it is a brake problem not a crank case breather problem surely!

Two feet to stop sounds like a servo problem to me - get checking all pipe work etc.

hi I think what may be your problem with the brakes that you do not have any vacume if this is the case and it is a TD4 you have the vacume pump on the right hand side of the engin just above the gear box But I bet the problem is not there try the tube that runs from the pipes conection and over the gear box where it touches the gear box you will probably find the pipe has fraid and just allowing the vacume not to build up and letting air in I am sure the pipe bore is 5mm you will not get it from Landrover I have tried buy the local car shop had some in this loss of vacume will appear as though the brakes are really hard and you can not stop it fail that it is not the pipe im may be your vacume pump
hope this helps
