yes i know i already posted about this earlier
does the vacum pump suck constant pressure or does it increase its suction as engine increases cant find a solution to my brake woes online so could use some input

So wots the prob with your brakes
i will quote mot failure "dbt service brake efficiency 36%"
they are saying pedal is hard but brakes not working very well but servo is working when car is being driven at 30mph and i can induce a reaction from abs when used in anger

you can test servo by pressing foot on brake ,when you start engine pedal should sink as servo pulls ,have you checked discs and pads ,pads often harden and become less effective caliper slides seize etc

on tick over there is enough vacume for safe brakeing. take the pipe off and you should be able to stick your finger to pump side and suck a vacume on servo side. It could also be seized brake calipers , sliders or pistons

yeah took the pipe off and it was sucking my finger to it also when i pulled it out there was a rush of air from servo, i did check brakes etc just a bit confused cos when i drove it the servo seemed to be working and pedal had some travel like i said it pulled up ok also tried the start up test and that seemed ok looks like a trip to the local specalists for me and another attack on my wallet. i think you may be onto somthing with the brake pads as the car has been off rd since feb

thanks for all your help it turned out to be a split in the pipe from egr rubbish to air box so got mot and road legal happy days
