hi all,

Some advice or links to pages would be most welcome!!

I have a discovery 1 with a master cylinder that has 4 ports, can I heckers find a drawing that replicates this.

I'm currently stripping it down and rebuilding it and the drawings I made don't appear good enough. I can figure out the front calipers but there is a cylinder that splits off one of the brake lines that comes off the master cylinder and I think it goes to the rear (maybe both) and the front caliper (both front caliper said have to brakes lines but is not abs)

Any help would be most welcome!!

Cheers

Hi Matey the D1 non abs should have 2 ports, I have just removed the full abs braking system off my D1 project
& made it non abs & fitted a full new system including the servo & master.

The cylinder is a brake bias valve I have fitted a new one of these also but I had to figure this out
as this was missing fkn headache I had over the last few weeks lol

Have you got a pic of your master cylinder ??
See pic for a non D1 abs system

Thanks very much for the help, it's a 1993 disco so fits in the age bracket you refer I'll try and upload the picture including the diagram I did at the time

So I think I'm happy and just need to buy a new pressure reduction valve.

Looking at my diagram I take it the t junction at the point of the split front / rear caliper is full pressure so the pressure reduction cylinder is the 'oblong' I drew that goes to the rear lines only?

Seems what u have is a stand fitment for the early D1, each front calliper has a primary circuit and secondary circuit therefore two brake lines, the “cylinder off the brake lines” is the pressure valve for the rear brakes.

This link will hopefully give u an idea of the brake pipe work involved on early and later vehicles.
