Brake question

I asked this yesterday, but i think i put in the wrong section.
When my brake pedal is pressed on my 110, there is sometimes a smack or how can i describe a clap? sound. Only sometimes mind you and not as soon as the pedal is pressed only during the slowing down?
Any idea's?

I have an issue with the pads in the front calipers that appear to be to small (narrow) and can then move back and forward (in line with the rotation of the disk), and hence cause a clicking noise. It also can cause a slight jerking motion as you apply the brakes....(if you know what I mean!!)
